Chemicals

Sodium carbonate is used in a large number of chemical reactions. A very large number of organic or inorganic substances can, when they combine with one or more sodium atoms , be made soluble or more soluble in water in a very economical way.
  In this way Soda Ash is acting as a major raw material for the production of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), sodium silicates (Na2O x SiO2), sodium tripolyphosphates (Na5P3O10), sodium orthophosphate (NaH2PO4-Na2HPO4 - Na3PO4), sodium metaphosphate (NaPO3), sodium percarbonate (2NaCO33H2O2), sodium bichromate (Na2Cr2O72H2O), sodium sulphite (Na2SO3), sodium metabisulphite (Na2S2O5) and many others.

 Soda Ash is also used as raw material for

  • Production of various chemical fertilizers, such as synthetic sodium nitrates and fragmented phosphates;
  • Production of artificial sodium bentonites or activated bentonites;
  • Manufacture of synthetic detergents;
  • Organic and inorganic coloring industry;
  • Enamelling industry;
  • Petroleum industry;
  • Fats, glues and gelatine industry, etc
