Sodium carbonate or its derivative sodium bicarbonate is used for the deacidification of combustion gases (energy generators). Flue gas cleaning using sodium carbonate can be carried out using a wet process or a dry process.

The Neutrec® process

For the deacidification of incinerator fumes (domestic waste or special or hospital waste), sodium bicarbonate is injected using a dry process. This Solvay-patented procedure has developed well (Neutrec® process). This technology also allows the residues of the gas treatment to be recycled after treatment.
